Transforming Health: The Role and Impact of Women's Leadership in the Health Sector (THRIVE)
Details
This mixed-methods study across Sub-Saharan Africa, funded by the Global Financing Facility, shows how women leaders:
- Prioritize women-centric and neglected health issues in RMNCAH-N and immunization.
- Mobilize resources and build trust with communities, increasing service use and reducing health disparities.
- Create more inclusive, gender-responsive workplaces and open doors for other women leaders.
THRIVE highlights why investing in women’s leadership is smart health policy: from increased funding for priority issues, to more supportive workplace policies, to a virtuous cycle that brings more women into decision-making spaces.
