With GFF support, the government of Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) prioritizes key health financing reforms to expand quality health services to women, children and adolescents in the worst affected areas while making services affordable.

Over the past few years, the government improved domestic resource mobilization and efficiency and made a series of public financial management reforms to strengthen strategic purchasing of health services. Focus was also placed on boosting civil society engagement to promote more transparency and accountability in spending. These efforts resulted in increased domestic resources for health, more equitable allocation of existing resources and decreased out-of-pocket expenses for the most vulnerable communities.
