31 July 2025 — The Global Financing Facility for Women, Children and Adolescents (GFF) will hold its next board meeting in Dakar, Senegal from November 10–13. The GFF's Investors Group (IG) and Trust Fund Committee (TFC) will focus on the next strategy period of the GFF amid a shifting development landscape and building on comprehensive consultations with a broad set of stakeholders.

“This partnership between Senegal and the GFF represents a transformative force for our country," said Dr. Ibrahima Sy, Minister of Health and Social Action for Senegal. "We are honored to host this governance meeting as the GFF marks a decade of impact and charts an ambitious course for the next five years with its new strategy.”

Over the years, Senegal has emerged as a regional leader in maternal and child health innovation. Since joining the GFF partnership in 2015, the country's bold multisectoral approach has delivered tangible results in its most vulnerable communities through strategic investments in healthcare worker training, expanded domestic health funding, and universal free healthcare access.

"Senegal's remarkable leadership and track record in maternal, child, and adolescent health exemplifies what's possible when partners unite around country-led priorities," said Luc Laviolette, Head of the GFF Secretariat. "The next GFF governance meeting represents an opportunity to learn and amplify these successes as well as driving collective action and decisions toward our shared vision.”

In addition to convening the Investors Group and the Trust Fund Committee, the governance meetings in Senegal will also be an opportunity for the Ministerial Network to gather as well as members of the civil society and youth constituencies. Further there will be additional opportunities to learn from Senegal’s experience through a knowledge café that will allow participants to understand more deeply the context and how results were achieved.
