WEBINAR | Health Financing and Supply of Medical Commodities: An Exploration of Challenges at the Crossroads
Details
No. 19 in the GFF/WHO Health Financing & PHC Webinar Series
Access to essential health medicines and products requires governments to align multiple health financing and supply chain functions. This includes setting priorities, accurately forecasting needs, allocating and releasing sufficient funding, and ensuring that financing mechanisms and product supply chains work together. Because these functions are often managed by different institutions, effective coordination is critical. Without alignment, disconnects between forecasting, pricing, provider payment and product distribution can prevent essential health care medicines from reaching the people who need them.
In this webinar, we’re going to explore issues at the intersection of health financing and supply chains. We’ll start with a recent study conducted by R4D in four African countries. After a brief framing presentation and a quick overview of the main findings, we’ll hear from experts from the countries involved, who will share their observations and possible courses of action.
Note: Webinar will be held in English avec traduction instantanée en français.
