Without a legal identity, it’s difficult to access social protection services and nearly impossible to participate in modern life. Millions of people are left on the margins of society because they lack legal identity. Countries with fragile economic and political climates have the weakest institutions and the fewest resources to break the cycle of invisibility and exclusion.

The Centre of Excellence for CRVS Systems at IDRC and the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data organized a 2-part webinar series to disseminate the findings of a newly released compendium, “The Nexus Between Civil Registration and Social Protection Systems: Five Country Practices.”
