With support from the GFF, World Bank Health Nutrition and Population Global Practice, international partners, and the Government of Cameroon funded the expansion of a highly impactful neonatal intervention—kangaroo mother care (KMC)— through a development impact bond (DIB). DIBs are innovative financing instruments that focus on results to enable governments and donors to pay only for successful outcomes in health and other sectors. The session provided early experiences with DIBs in health, education, and poverty.
