The GFF supports Senegal’s investment case, which prioritizes a multisectoral approach to expand quality health services for women, children, and adolescents in the most vulnerable regions.

Focus is placed on strengthening the capacity of health care workers, increasing domestic resources for health and expanding free health care for all. More specifically, the government is collaborating with the GFF to build more capacity for program-based budgeting, strengthen human resources in remote areas, introduce cash transfers to empower women and girls, and strengthen the supply chain by contracting private operators for last mile drug and equipment delivery. The GFF supports partner alignment around these priorities, enabling strong civil society participation in the implementation and monitoring of the investment case.

“With GFF support, through the NAFOORE project, we engaged religious leaders to raise awareness among men of the importance of frequent pregnancy check-ups. This has allowed us to improve pre- and post-natal care for pregnant women and post-partum family planning.” —Nurse Oulymata, Head of Station, Thietty, Senegal
